Tragic Accident Near Mount Everest
An Indian tourist has died after two helicopters collided while landing near Mount Everest's base camp. The accident happened in Pheriche, a village about 12 kilometers south of the base camp, on a clear morning.
The collision occurred around 8:15 AM when both helicopters tried to land at the same spot. The man who died was identified as Vasanth Kumar Balaramudu. One helicopter belonged to Fishtail Air, which reported that another passenger and the pilot were injured. The other helicopter, operated by Air Dynasty, was carrying cargo and its pilot was unharmed.
The injured individuals were rescued and taken to Kathmandu for treatment. This incident reminds us that flying in Nepal can be dangerous due to changing weather and high altitudes, even though helicopters are important for travel in the region.
